Vinicunca “Rainbow Mountain”

The Vinicunca mountain, also called the Mountain of Seven Colors or Rainbow Mountain, is a mountain with an altitude of 5,200 meters above sea level and is located on the road to the Ausangate peak. Thanks to its popularity and the splendid view surrounded by snow-capped mountains, it attracts many tourists from all over the world.

Although its boom is fairly recent, the history of the mountain and its colors began millions of years ago. Its appearance is due to a geological formation of millions years produced by a variety of minerals that gave birth to its colors.

The pick up at your hotel will be at 5:00 am. Our journey will last about 3 hours and 30 minutes until we reach the start point, at 4100 meters above sea level. We will proceed with the 1 hour and 20 minute-walk, where we will be able to see species of South American camelids such as llamas and alpacas. The highest point of the tour will be 5200 masl, here you will have a wonderful view of the mountain and free time to take photos and enjoy the landscape. We will return the same way and arrive in Cusco at approximately 4:00 pm.
